  Director: Debbie L. Ebner
2006-2009

Debbie Ebner graduated with a Bachelor's in Education from Colorado State University . She currently teaches at Hewitt-Trussville High School in Trussville , Alabama (a bedroom community of Birmingham ). She previously taught in Colorado for 4 years in the 1980's. Between 1989 and 2003, she was in the car rental industry where she spent time in reservations and operations management, and developed a reputation as a “turnaround manager.” As a result, she frequently moved around the country working in Charlotte , NC , Scottsdale , AZ , Tallahassee , FL , Charleston , SC , Atlanta , GA , Memphis , TN , and Myrtle Beach , SC. She spent time as a Regional Manager overseeing 21 Training Managers in 64 locations throughout the southeast. After 11 years, she worked her way up to Corporate Manager for Performance & Learning. Finding the top of the ladder at corporate headquarters unfulfilling, she left taking 8 months off to decide what she really wanted to do with her life. It became clear that she missed teaching and working with high school students. She began the process of getting recertified and looking for a job. 3 years later, a Marketing Education position came open at her local high school.

Debbie is involved with the local Chamber of Commerce acting as the sponsor for the Chamber's High School Student Ambassador Program. She serves as the Career Technical Education Coordinator for her school district. For the 3 years since she returned to teaching, her DECA Chapter has been the largest in the state each year. In her spare time, Debbie spends time with her 3 dogs (all adopted), flower gardening, and traveling.

  Director: Daralyn Loveless
2003-2009

In her 20 years of experience in the Marketing Division, Daralyn Loveless, Marketing Instructor at Putnam City West, has true compassion for every student that walks through the door, believing that there is good in every person and that everyone can be successful. Loveless has given her students the tools they need to reach their personal and career goals.

Presenting workshops at National ACTE, serving on the National ACTE Resolutions Committee, serving on state committees, mentoring new teachers, and being active in community activities are a few of her professional activities.

Placing first in Public Relations at the international competition in 2002, placing top ten in Public Relations at the national competition in 1999, having eight State DECA Officers in thirteen years, as well as many other state and national awards are truly rewarding. Just as rewarding to Loveless is the student who now is able to hold a job or has more self-confidence to be successful.

One former student just graduated with honors from Otis School of Fashion and is now designing with Bob Mackie in Los Angeles comments, “Without her, none of the great things that have happened in my life would have come true. She will always be the ‘Teacher of the Year’ to me and many other alumni.” Mentoring students and fellow teachers is a high priority to Loveless.

Loveless has recently earned the 2003 Oklahoma ACTE Pride Award, 2003 Marketing Pride Award, 2003 ACTE Region IV Marketing Teacher of the Year, 2002 – 2003 Oklahoma ACTE Teacher of the Year, and the 2002 – 2003 Marketing Teacher of the Year.
